How to Start a Get Out of Your Own Way Book Club

Highlights

We all know setting goals is more difficult when you're going at it alone. That's why we've created an exciting offer for #GoalGetterChallenge participants who want to organize a group to dive deeper into Dave Hollis' book, Get Out of Your Own Way.

  • The #GoalGetterChallenge is an introduction to 8 of the 19 lies Dave discovered people tell themselves so they can avoid overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals.

  • If you want to get the most out of this challenge, we recommend studying Get Out of Your Own Way with your friends, co-workers, and/or family members.

  • When you buy 15 or more copies of Get Out of Your Own Way with code DAVEREADS, you'll receive an email from Dave at the end of the #GoalGetterChallenge to schedule an exclusive Zoom call between the author and your book club.

Throughout the #GoalGetter Challenge, Dave will be sharing a few concepts from his book, Get Out of Your Own Way, but he’ll only scratch the surface of his groundbreaking personal and professional development insights. Dive deeper and push yourself further by exploring Dave’s book with your own accountability partners.

We’ve got exactly what you need to start your own book club TODAY, plus… when you buy 15 copies or more, Dave will hop on an exclusive Zoom call with your club to have a dream-building and obstacle-crushing conversation with your crew!

Use code DAVEREADS at checkout to save 10% off your order. Plus, Dave will meet with your book club via Zoom!

How It Works

After you make your purchase of 15 copies or more, you'll receive an email from Dave within a 2-3 days. You will schedule a Zoom meeting with Dave to occur after the #GoalGetterChallenge ends on 1/15/21.

Tips and resources for your book club

  1. Set a consistent meeting time: People are much more likely to participate in a book club when they can schedule it on their calendar. The more predictable the commitment, the stronger the commitment. We recommend brief, once a week lunchtime or evening meetings.

  2. Prepare thought-provoking questions: Half of the impact of a book comes from what the author writes and the other half comes from what the readers take away from the writing. Discussion questions help book club leaders extract the best feedback from participants. Luckily for you, we’ve done the heavy lifting for you!

➡️ Click here to download a list of questions for each chapter of Get Out of Your Own Way (these can even double as journal prompts!).

  3. Have an end goal. If there’s anything we know about natural born leaders like you and your crew, it’s that you want to take action on the words you read. That’s why we’ve included Dave’s New Year’s Goals and Goal-Setting Framework to our suite of Get Out of Your Own Way book club resources. Download them now and instruct your book club buddies to fill them out as you progress through the book.

Bonus: Invite your co-workers and friends with this simple text or email message!

“Hey [insert friend’s name] ! I’m reading Dave Hollis’ book, Get Out of Your Own Way, starting in January. I’d love to invite you to read it with me (I’ve already got a copy waiting for you!) as part of my one-month book club. We’ll meet every Wednesday at noon on Zoom for just 30 minutes. Grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, and get support as you set your 2021 New Year’s Goals!”
